As the room falls silent, all eyes turn towards the podium in anticipation…
Finally, our beloved shaykh who gave us our first taste of Almaghrib is back! This time for Light Upon Light: Fundamentals of Faith 102. Sitting in this beautiful historic masjid while learning about the beautiful Names and Attributes of Allah, we experience an eman rush like never before, one that can only come from learning about and knowing our Creator. We feel a serenity and contentment at odds with the noise and commotion outside.
The second weekend which is -to the excitement of some, and the dismay of others- in Brooklyn comes to a close after we learn the controversies and beliefs of different groups. After two awesome weekends marked by da’wah on the streets of Manhattan, delicious sweets for lunch, and brothers showing up wearing kurtas like the Shaykh, Tayybah bid farewell to Shaykh Yasir and thus ended Light Upon Light.
Memorable Moment
2ND Weekend… a question for the shaykh:
“How can we be sure we’re marrying a person of the correct aqeedah”
His response: “Well, there’s plenty of you here, aren’t there?”
