The Insignifance of Creation

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

Last night in Taraweeh, the shaykh recited:

“His companion said to him while he was conversing with him, “Have you disbelieved in He who created you from dust and then from a sperm-drop and then proportioned you [as] a man?”

{Surat al-Kahf: 18:37}

Subhannallah! This surah is well known and read very much, but for some reason hearing it from someone else was something different. It was touching to hear these words “Akafarta billathi Khalaqaq”. It felt like an arrow drenched in eman was shot to wake up the heart and almost purify it immediately from the impurities. How is it that we can be ungrateful to Allaah  who created us, that alone is a reason to submit our selves to His thank, . And then, the ayah continued to put the human to even MORE shame, “min Turab” (from dust), “Thumma min Nitfah” (then from a sperm-drop), “thumma sawwaka rajulah” (then proportioned you [as] a man). Not only are we not thankful when we disobey, but we also are not even in a position to have istikbar, bigotry and do other then what Allaah  said.

We come from the ground we step on and wash our bodies with water from because of our seeing it as dirt which needs to be cleaned.

We come from the Nutfah, the sperm and egg, things which are not even close to being visible by our normal eyes. This shows insignificance. We hide things which come out of our organs from others due to our shame of them. Not only do we original come from these organs as a nutfah, but we also come out of them as developed babies. So we come from what we look down upon and what we are ashamed to touch and see. Can you imagine a Lord who goes through this process in order for us to come to this world and give His message? It is not then an understatement at all when the heavens are on the verge of splitting from these statements.

And then after all of this Allah  says “thumma Sawwaka rajullah” (and then proportioned you [as] a man?). After all of this shame and weakness after weakness, how is it then and with what honor can we come and step out of line with Allah and then even take it further by speaking against Allah, who is the one who favored us by honoring us. It puts into perspective the amount of wrong that is done by us when in such a state and even worse. It shows the real and true status of shirk.

Our Shadows Prostrate to Allaah.What about us?

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

Allaah says ,

“Have they not observed things that Allah has created, (how) their shadows incline to the right and to the left, making prostration unto Allah, and they are lowly?”

{Surah an-Nahl 16:48}

Allaah informs us about His might, majesty and pride. All things submit themselves to Him and every created being – animate and inanimate, as well as the responsible – humans and jinns, and the angels – all humble themselves before Him.

The fact that our shadows and the shadows of all of creation prostrate to Allaah , shows His greatness and how important it is for us to also voluntarily dedicate ourselves to Him through sajdah and every other aspect of our lives.

May Allaah 
make us amongst those who are obedient to Him and those who continually prostrate to Him. Ameen.

The Greatest Bliss

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

Allaah  says,

“..Indeed, the greatest bliss is the good pleasure of Allah.”

{Surat at-Tawbah 9:72}

The Example of Aasiyah

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

I was thinking of this beautiful ayah (about Aasiyah bint Muzahim) today. It has always been one of my many favorites:

“And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe: the wife of

Fir`awn, when she said: “My Lord! Build for me a home with You in Paradise,

and save me from Fir`awn and his work, and save me from the people who are

wrongdoers”

{Surah at-Tahrim 66:11}

SubhanAllah, even though she was married to one of the worst and most disbelieving men to ever walk the face of this earth (Fir’awn), Aasiyah still strove to obey Allah  and was one of the most pious women in history. She faced unimaginable tortures at the hand of her husband, but she never wavered in her faith- she continually worshipped Allah  hoping and praying for a house in Paradise.

Although we may face hardships while striving to be obedient servants to our Lord, our situation is nothing in comparison to that which Aasiyah faced. She lived in the home of a tyrant, but was not affected by her husband’s disbelief because she obeyed Allah .

We pray that we can follow her sublime and noble example and we pray that Allah  will grant each of us a house in Jennah and grant us the strength of Aasiyah in the face of trials and struggles. Ameen. Thuma Ameen.

Loosen Your Grip on the World and Cling to the Hereafter

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

“O believers! What is the matter with you that when you are asked to march

forth in the way of Allah, you cling to the earth? Do you

prefer the life of this world to the life of the hereafter? If it is so, then you should know

that the comforts of this life are little compared to the life of the hereafter”

{Surat at-Tawbah 9:38}

Never Give Up Hope of Allah’s Mercy

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

“Everyone besides Allah (SWT) will disappoint your expectations…So long as you place any hopes in creation, you are necessarily going to be disappointed.”

~Br. Nou’man Ali Khan

“…certainly no one despairs of Allah’s Mercy, except those who have no faith (i.e. the disbelievers).”

{Surat Yusuf 12:87}

“When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I

listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them

also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk

in the right way.”

{Surat al-Baqarah 2:186}

Warning Against Ridiculing and Insulting One Another

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one’s] faith. And whoever does not repent – then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

{Surat al-Hujjuraat 49:11}

The Recipe for Seeking Help

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult

except for the humbly submissive [to Allah ]. Who are certain that they will

meet their Lord and that they will return to Him.

{Surat al-Baqarah 2:45-46}

Amazing is the Affair of the Believer

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

This portion of the tafseer of Surah at-Taghabun, ayah 64 is really beautiful, masha’Allah, so I thought I would share it. (If you have a chance, take a look at the tafseer which can be found on http://www.tafsir.com/ of the entire surah. It’s an imaan-booster alhamdulillah.) Enjoy!

No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah . And whoever believes in Allah – He will guide his heart. And Allah is Knowing of all things.

{Surat at-Taghabun 64:11}

All that occurs to Mankind is by Allah’s Permission

(No calamity occurs, but by the permission of Allah,)

Ibn `Abbas  said; “By the command of Allah,” meaning from His decree and will.

(and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart. And Allah is

the All-Knower of everything.)

meaning, whoever suffered an affliction and he knew that it occurred by Allah’s judgment and decree, and he patiently abides, awaiting Allah’s  reward, then Allah  guides his heart, and will compensate him for his loss in this life by granting guidance to his heart and certainty in faith. Allah  will replace whatever he lost for Him with the same or what is better.

`Ali bin Abi Talhah reported from Ibn `Abbas ,

(and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart.)

“Allah  will guide his heart to certainty. Therefore, he will know that what reached him would not have missed him and what has missed him would not have reached him.”

There is an agreed upon Hadith [that Al-Bukhari and Muslim collected and]

which states,

Amazing is the believer: There is no decree that Allah writes for him, but

is better for him. If an affliction strikes him, he is patient and this is

better for him. If a bounty is granted to him, he is thankful and this is

better for him. This trait is only for the faithful believer.

Warning Against Concealing Knowledge

Posted by tayybahppn on April 8, 2009

Allah  says in the Qur’an:

Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and the guidance, which We have sent downafter We have made it clear for the People in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers.

{Surat Al-Baqarah 2:159}

This ayah generally goes into and refers to those people who hide knowledge. Such people are cursed by Allah .

The Prophet  said,

Whoever was asked about knowledge that one has, but he hid it, then a bridle made of fire will be tied around his mouth on the Day of Resurrection.”

[Abu Dawood]

And Abu Hurayrah  said about this ayah, “If it was not for an Ayah in Allah’s Book, I would not have narrated a Hadith for anyone.”
